The Rainbow Serpent speaks to Yuin Country on the South Coast of New South Wales and to the ancestral force that shaped it. In the beginning, the land was flat and silent. As the Rainbow Serpent moved across Country, its great body carved mountains, valleys, and waterways, bringing form, movement, and life. Calling the frogs to release the water held within them, the serpent filled its tracks with rivers and creeks. From this journey came Lore — the laws that guide all living things — and the transformation of beings into people, animals, stone, and place.
