Artist Statement
This work shows the artist’s Great Grandfather (James Ahoy) coming to Australia. He left from the southern province in China in 1897, went to Braidwood where he went gold mining, then due to persecution turned to Market Gardening where he met Lloyd’s great grandmother Ellen De Mestra a Yuin Aboriginal woman. This work shows where he came from to his connection to the Aboriginal community in Australia
